Quick answer: Roblox confirms that active Roblox Plus subscribers get an exclusive item launcher they can use to gift items to other players during The Hollow. However, Roblox’s official announcement does not explicitly confirm whether every non-Plus account can receive every launcher item, which items are eligible, or whether there are limits. So the careful answer is: the launcher is a confirmed Plus perk, but recipient eligibility and the full gifting rules should be checked in the live launcher before you promise a friend a specific item.
Verification note: This article checks Roblox’s official event announcement and the live Hollow experience listing. We did not independently run a controlled in-game test across Plus and non-Plus accounts, so we will not label a community claim as a verified test result.
What Roblox officially confirms about the Free Launcher
In its October 21 announcement, Roblox says active Roblox Plus subscribers receive an exclusive item launcher they can use to gift items to other players during The Hollow. The announcement separately confirms early hub access, an exclusive profile frame and background, and the ability for active Plus subscribers to keep the event theme beyond the finale.
- Who gets the launcher? Roblox identifies it as a Roblox Plus subscriber benefit.
- What is it for? Gifting items to other players during The Hollow.
- Can a non-Plus friend receive an item? The official announcement does not clearly spell out recipient subscription requirements. Check the launcher’s live prompt and the item’s eligibility before treating this as guaranteed.
- Can it gift every Marketplace item? Not confirmed by the official announcement.
- Does the launcher make paid items free? Roblox has not said that it bypasses item prices or other restrictions. Read the confirmation screen carefully.

Can a free player receive a gift from a Plus friend?
Roblox’s wording says the launcher lets subscribers gift items to “other players,” but it does not publish a detailed recipient-eligibility matrix in the announcement. That wording alone is not enough to promise that every free account can receive every item under every condition.
Best practical check: join the official Hollow experience with your friend, inspect the item launcher’s own instructions, and confirm the recipient and item are eligible before launching anything. If the interface rejects the recipient, displays a restriction, or asks for an additional requirement, follow that live message rather than a third-party guide.
Do not share your password, browser cookies, one-time codes or account recovery details with anyone offering to “unlock” the launcher. The launcher is an in-event feature; a website asking for your login to deliver a gift is not an official gifting step.
How to check the launcher safely, step by step
- Open the official experience. Use The Hollow’s Roblox page, not a lookalike link from a comment or video description.
- Check your Plus status. Roblox describes the launcher as a Plus benefit. If it does not appear, check the active subscription and the in-game reward board.
- Read the launcher instructions. Confirm the exact item, who can receive it and any limits shown on screen.
- Ask your friend to join the same experience. Do not assume an item can be sent outside The Hollow or into a normal inventory unless the game says so.
- Confirm before launching. Read every warning and confirmation. Do not assume that an item is free, transferable or reversible.
- Save evidence if something fails. A screenshot of the prompt and the result is more useful than an unsourced claim that the launcher is broken.
What is available to non-Plus players?
The Hollow is a broader Halloween event, not just a Plus feature. Roblox says eligible Roblox or Roblox Select accounts can enter the event in most regions, with age and access varying by region. The event includes a new maze and monster across nine days, and quests can earn exclusive UGC and other rewards. The Plus launcher is a separate subscriber perk; it should not be confused with the event’s quest-reward path.
Roblox also lists limited-time Halloween avatar items for sale on Marketplace. Those paid listings are separate from quest-earned UGC and from the launcher itself. Check the live item board for the actual requirement, price or eligibility instead of relying on a thumbnail.
Historical Roblox Halloween images: context only
The images below are from earlier Roblox Halloween experiences and are included only as visual context for the seasonal event format. They are not screenshots of the 2026 Hollow launcher and do not prove a successful gift to a non-Plus player. We have not found a verified public launcher screenshot that conclusively demonstrates recipient eligibility.

Official updates and community posts
For the most reliable changes, check Roblox’s official announcement and the live experience. The official announcement confirms the launcher’s purpose but does not publish the complete gifting rules. We could not verify a specific public X post demonstrating a non-Plus recipient successfully receiving an item, so this article does not embed a supposed test post.

Frequently asked questions
Is The Hollow item launcher available to free players?
Roblox describes the launcher as an exclusive benefit for active Roblox Plus subscribers. Free players can still enter the event if eligible and pursue its quest rewards.
Can a Roblox Plus player gift items to a friend who does not have Plus?
Roblox confirms that the launcher is for gifting items to other players, but its announcement does not clearly state whether recipients need Plus. Check the live launcher’s recipient rules before relying on it.
Does the launcher give away every Marketplace item for free?
No such blanket promise appears in Roblox’s announcement. Item eligibility and any price or restrictions should be checked in the live interface.
Has a non-Plus gifting test been independently verified here?
No. This article checked the official announcement and event listing, but did not run a controlled test using separate Plus and non-Plus accounts. We will not invent a test result.
When does The Hollow event end?
Roblox says the live finale is on October 31 and players can continue collecting rewards until noon Pacific time on November 2, 2026. Check the live event for any changes.
Bottom line
The Hollow’s item launcher is a confirmed Roblox Plus perk designed to gift items to other players. Whether a particular non-Plus friend can receive a particular item is not fully documented in Roblox’s announcement. Check the launcher’s live rules, verify the recipient and item, and avoid guides that claim a successful test without showing reproducible evidence.
