Updated October 21, 2026: With Steal An Egg’s Halloween Part 2 listed for October 24, players have a reason to review crowded inventories, duplicate pets and event-currency plans. But public evidence does not establish a mass sell-off by leaderboard players. Selling a pet to the game, gifting it to another player and making an informal “trade” are different things.
The practical takeaway: don’t dump a rare pet because a countdown is approaching. Decide whether you need inventory space, in-game cash or the pet’s earning power—and verify what Part 2 actually adds before making an irreversible move.
Why players may be clearing pets before Part 2
When a major update is close, experienced players may tidy their pens and rebalance resources. In Steal An Egg, pets generate money, eggs take effort to bring home, and upgrades compete for that income. Selling a duplicate through the Sell Shop can turn an unwanted pet into cash. It is not proof that every current pet is expected to lose value.
- Make room and simplify the pen. Players may want to identify their best earners quickly instead of sorting through low-value duplicates during a new event.
- Keep cash available. If the next update introduces new gates, eggs, upgrades or event purchases, cash may be more flexible than a spare pet. Part 2 costs and rewards should be checked in-game after launch.
- Protect valuable rolls. Rarity is not the whole story. Size and mutation can affect usefulness, so two pets with the same name may not be interchangeable.

Is this really a player-to-player pet sell-off?
Not necessarily. A community trading guide updated in September described no dedicated two-sided trading window at that time and distinguished the Sell Shop from informal gifting. An item someone calls a “trade” may have changed hands through a one-way gift; a pet sold to the game’s shop is a different transaction.
Without representative listings or official developer data, it would be misleading to claim that top-ranked players are broadly dumping pets or that a particular pet’s market value has collapsed. Social posts and videos can show individual examples, but they do not prove a market-wide trend. Treat claims that pets will be “worthless after Part 2” as speculation until the update is live.

What the October 24 Part 2 listing does—and doesn’t—tell us
Public Roblox event trackers list a Halloween Part 2 expansion for October 24. That is a useful planning signal, not a guarantee that every feature, price or balance change is already known. The current Halloween Dimension has its own limited-time egg, Candy Corn rewards and special areas; don’t assume those details will carry over unchanged.
Until developers publish the Part 2 contents or the update appears in-game, there is no reliable basis for declaring a specific existing pet obsolete. A new biome could change which pets are convenient to use, but older pets may still earn money, help newer accounts progress or retain value because of their size and mutation.

Which pets should you keep, sell or gift?
Usually keep: your highest-income pets, rare pets with unusually strong size or mutation rolls, and anything difficult to replace. Record the pet’s name, rarity, displayed income and mutation before deciding. Check the date on any community tier list and verify values in your own game.
Consider selling: ordinary duplicates that do not improve your income, pets you can easily hatch again, or low-value items you deliberately want to convert into cash. Compare the Sell Shop amount with the pet’s usefulness before confirming.
Be cautious about gifting: an informal trade may not have a two-sided confirmation or escrow, and a confirmed gift may be irreversible. Never hand over a valuable pet first because a stranger promises to send something back. Avoid sites claiming to generate free pets or codes, and never share your Roblox password or authentication codes.

A five-minute checklist before you sell
- Note the pet’s rarity, income, size and mutation.
- Compare it with your best earners—not just its name or rarity label.
- Check the Sell Shop amount and decide what you would spend the cash on.
- Keep your strongest or hardest-to-replace pets until Part 2’s real rewards and requirements are visible.
- Ignore claims that a pet is “guaranteed worthless” unless concrete, current evidence supports them.

Bottom line: prepare for Part 2, but don’t panic-sell
The October 24 listing gives players a reason to prepare, not to liquidate their best pets blindly. Sell only low-value duplicates you already planned to clear, preserve rare rolls, keep cash for confirmed requirements and reassess after the update is live. As of October 21, a broad “top players are selling everything” trend is not independently verified.
