Quick answer: Yes. Roblox’s official announcement says active Roblox Plus subscribers receive an exclusive item launcher they can use to gift items to other players during The Hollow. The announcement does not say recipients must also subscribe to Roblox Plus, so non-Plus friends can receive gifts through this event feature. The launcher is a Plus perk; it is not the same as sending Robux directly between accounts.

Can Roblox Plus members gift Hollow items to friends without Plus?
Based on Roblox’s official October 21 announcement, the item launcher is available to active Roblox Plus subscribers and is designed for gifting items to other players. Roblox does not state in that announcement that the recipient must have Plus. That means the clearest reading is that the sender needs the subscription, while the friend receiving the gift does not need to subscribe merely to receive it. Check the launcher’s live in-game prompts for any item-specific restrictions before trying to send a particular reward.
Roblox also confirms that Plus subscribers get early access to The Hollow hub, an exclusive profile frame and background, and the ability to keep the event theme beyond the finale while the subscription remains active. The public event opened October 22 at 2 p.m. Pacific, with Plus early access at noon Pacific.
How to use The Hollow item launcher
- Open Roblox and enter the official The Hollow experience.
- Make sure the account sending the gift has an active Roblox Plus subscription.
- Find the event’s item launcher and read the in-game instructions carefully.
- Select an eligible item and the intended recipient, if those choices are offered by the interface.
- Review the confirmation screen before sending. If the item is missing, locked, or not listed, do not assume a third-party guide can unlock it.
Roblox’s announcement confirms the launcher’s purpose, but it does not publish a complete list of every item eligible for gifting or every restriction. Treat the live interface as the final source for item-specific rules.
Do recipients need Roblox Plus?
Roblox’s announcement describes the launcher as a Plus subscriber benefit for gifting items to other players, without saying that recipients also need Plus. The safest practical answer is: the sender needs access to the launcher, while a recipient should not need Plus unless the specific item or a live in-game rule says otherwise. Because Roblox has not published a detailed public eligibility table for every gift, verify the selected item before confirming.
Do not confuse this launcher with Roblox Plus’s separate Robux-transfer feature. Roblox Support says Robux transfers are a different Plus benefit and have age and safety conditions; its support page says both parties must be age-verified and 18 or older for direct Robux transfers, with parental approval rules for younger users subject to applicable requirements. Those rules should not automatically be treated as the rules for every event item gift.

- Check the recipient and item on the confirmation screen.
- If the launcher is missing, update Roblox and check whether the account has an active Plus subscription and access to The Hollow.
- Keep a screenshot of any error and contact Roblox Support if the official interface fails.
Frequently asked questions
