The biggest names in American Horror Story Season 13 are already on screen or clearly identified. Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett and the rest of the returning ensemble dominate the early conversation. Yet a quieter group of new and lesser-discussed cast members is still waiting in the wings, and their roles remain almost completely unknown.

Cara Delevingne, Avantika, Charlie Carver and several others have been confirmed for the season. Almost none of them have been given clear character descriptions. In a season built on recognition and reunion, the blank spaces around these actors are starting to look intentional.

Avantika has already appeared in the opening episodes as Ophelia, a young witch at Miss Robichaux’s Academy. That is one of the few concrete assignments so far. The rest of the list is far less defined.

Cara Delevingne is confirmed for the season but has not been publicly tied to a specific role. Charlie Carver, who also co-wrote several episodes, is listed in the cast without a character name attached. Other names that have surfaced in casting reports and production notes include Grace Dumdaw and additional supporting players who have not yet been placed in the story.

These are not background extras. They were announced alongside the major returning stars, which suggests their parts carry narrative weight.

Why the Secrecy Makes Sense

Season 13 is designed as a crossover that rewards longtime viewers. The returning characters arrive with years of history attached. New faces do not have that luxury. If the show revealed their identities too early, it would either spoil major twists or reduce them to simple “new witch” or “new victim” labels.

Keeping them undefined also preserves the season’s sense of danger. When every familiar face is already accounted for, the unknown players become the wild cards. They can be allies, threats, or something the audience has never seen in this universe before.

Possible Directions for the New Cast

Several theories are already circulating. One is that some of the new actors are playing historical or mythological figures pulled into the present by the same forces that resurrected Adelaide and the Black Dahlia. Another is that they represent a younger generation of witches or outsiders who will be forced to choose sides once the larger conflict becomes clear.

Charlie Carver’s dual role as writer and actor is especially interesting. Writers who also appear on screen often do so in roles that comment on the story or carry personal significance. His character, when revealed, may sit closer to the season’s central mystery than the promotional materials currently suggest.

Cara Delevingne’s casting has drawn the most public curiosity simply because of her profile. In a season already packed with recognizable faces, adding another high-visibility name without explanation only increases the sense that her part is meant to land as a surprise.

What the First Three Episodes Tell Us

So far the new faces have been used sparingly. Avantika’s Ophelia is the main example, and even she has been given limited screen time. The Apollyon storyline has focused on Ben, Constance, and Mr. Nas. The Coven has appeared mainly in short scenes. That leaves large stretches of the season still available for the remaining new cast members to enter.

The middle episodes, particularly those centered on the witches, are the most likely place for several of these roles to expand. Once the Coven begins reaching for older powers, the story will need additional bodies on both sides of the conflict. Some of the new actors may fill those spaces.

Why It Matters

In a season that is already being read as possible closure, the new faces serve a specific purpose. They prevent the story from becoming pure nostalgia. They prove that the world of American Horror Story can still introduce people the audience has not already met a dozen times.

Whether they become memorable additions or temporary pieces on a larger board will depend on how the remaining episodes use them. For now they exist as open questions, and in this franchise open questions are rarely left unanswered for long.
